Members of the AOFPD spent the day at the Oreana Park for the annual Water in the park day which is part of the Oreana Park Program. Captain Doug Kirk, Firefighters Matt Smith, Steve Pringle, Bob Dunn & Dave Duncan took Engine-726 & Rescue-725 over for the morning to let the kids play in the water.

The Argenta-Oreana Fire Department was the recipient of two new AED's today. Chief Cory White and EMS Officer Jeff Belcher attended a press conference today at St Mary's Hospital where we were presented with the 2 new AED's. These were awarded to us from both the American Heart Association and St Mary's Hospital. The members of the AOFPD helped Firefighter Derek Miller Per-pose to his girlfriend tonight. We had 2 Engines and the Squad at her house tonight when she got home and we informed her that there had been a problem with the dryer. Firefighter Miller informed her that he had located the problem with the dryer and dropped to one knee and pulled out a ring. She did say yes!!!! Pictures coming soon!!!!!
Several firefighters attended a Storm Spotters Training this evening at Richland Community Collage. It was put on by the National Weather Service. Members attending were: Brad Walker, Cory White, Derek Miller, Jeff Belcher, Ken Smith, Dave Duncan, Jeff Batson, Matt Longstreet & Michael Stephens.
Chief White had the privilege of teaching fire safety today to some Boy Scouts so that they could get their Fire Safety Merit Badge. They spent the morning in class going over several fire safety tips, Pre Planning fire escapes from their homes, Fire Extinguisher training and smoke and CO detector training.
